My options for thumbnails are basically 'Shipbucket or World of Warships' here. You use what you have. In any event, Alsace. The final French battleship design, or rather, series of designs. It's not entirely apparent if the French actually settled on one before this entire process came to an end. Regardless, Alsace was an interesting case. Even when the naval treaty system collapsed, the French were against jumping to super battleships. Their largest and most capable designs were, in the end, jumped up versions of the final Richelieu designs. Capable ships, to be sure, but interesting ones. One of the absolute best examples of 'making due with what you have'.
