In this Video I'll show you the steps that I took to remove the ring and Pinion gear. This also of course gives access to the Pinion seal. That Job can be done without removing the Differential from the Car. This Job does require a special socket to remove the pinion nut. Part # 111-589-00-07-00. I paid around $80. I intend to replace the pinion taper bearings as I detected a slight notchy feel when turned. I would really appreciate any feedback on this rear end rebuild. There are of course many factors that need to be correct to be successful. I have never done this Job before and hope that this video helps you as much as me. We cam learn together. The rear end ratio for the 6.3 is 2.82. This Job is a common one for 108 owners that have the 6 cylinder cars and want to lower the revs at highway speeds. The rear end of choice is the 3.27 from the w108 4.5.
