This video is an excerpt from a private behavior consultation with Tyler Muto. The situation involved a household with three dogs, and multiple fosters, and one of the three resident dogs had begun attacking the others, especially in moments of high excitement. A note from Tyler about this video: As is often the case, Jade, the dog who was doing the "attacking" wasn't really the main issue. The main issue was the over-excitement and lack of discipline among all the dogs, but especially the "victim" dog, Sheba, who has a history of out of control behavior and reactivity. Sheba's behavior was creating a lot of stress for the other dog's around her, and none of the humans were addressing it. This put Jade in a position where she felt no choice but to take matters into her own hands. One of the main areas where Sheba's (and the rest of the dogs) behavior was at its worst was when going for walks. However, the poor manners and over excitement started before the walk even began, the moment the owners even picked up a leash. Many people skim through these preparatory steps as simply obstacles in the way of their true goal, the walk. Often even the walk is just a chore that stands in the way of the humans desire to relax, have dinner, watch television etc. This is why it is so important to learn to exist in the present moment with your dogs. Each moment has value. When you are sweeping the floor, just sweep the floor. This moment, right now, is the only thing that matters.
