Elaine Grant is a theatre education and access specialist with 38 years of experience in the creative industries, dedicated to connecting diverse communities with transformative cultural experiences. Through her consultancy, Elaine Grant Creative Consulting, she specialises in audience diversification, community engagement, and mentoring emerging creatives toward sustainable arts careers. She bridges the gap between cultural institutions and underrepresented audiences, leveraging her extensive networks to help theatre professionals realise their vision of truly inclusive programming. Grant's commitment to equity in the arts extends to her trustee roles with the Black Heroes Foundation and Family Arts Campaign, and board positions with Action for Children's Arts and UK Theatre's Inclusion and Anti-Racism working group. She served as a Family Panel member for the Olivier Awards and received the prestigious Alfred Fagan Award as a Champion of Black Theatre in 2021. Her portfolio includes ground breaking access and inclusion work with leading institutions, including Harewood House, Sadler's Wells, Royal Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, V&A Museum, and National Portrait Gallery. Through this work, Grant has empowered countless schools, community groups and families, particularly across Greater London, to claim their rightful place in cultural spaces, creating life-changing experiences that affirm their agency and belonging in the arts. Following the success of 100 Black Women Who Have Made A Mark, Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage is delighted to launch a new project for 2026; Making the Invisible Visible: Black Women 365 Days of the Year. Each day will showcase a different woman, whose story has shaped Black British or global Diasporic history; many of whom remain overlooked or under-celebrated in mainstream narratives. This will take the form of a rolling programme of short films, released throughout the year to keep these stories in daily circulation and to create an evolving constellation of leadership, resistance, artistry and enduring impact.
