[4K] Chasing the Pan Am Railways OCS Through Central Maine (11/9/2021)

On 11/8/2021, a friend of mine notified me that the Pan Am OCS would be dead heading to Rigby and potentially Ayer, Mass. On this trip the FP9A's (PAR 1 and PAR 2) would be left at Waterville since they lack PTC (which in previous trips the plan was to tuck a B40-8 in the train, and swap leaders when entering PTC territory) and since the train would be traveling through MBTA territory, the leader needed it. The MEC 7542 which has been painted for some time, was run through the paint booth so it would look fresh like the rest of the train. I picked the train up at Rice Rips Road in Oakland, ME after watching it depart Waterville, and chased it to Danville Jct. Although I tried to get it at Penny Road in New Glouster, I decided instead to go after RUPO 321 which was following the OCS west. Unfortunately, RUPO was held at mile 157, since DJ-1 was working International Paper in Auburn, and still had a few customers to switch before they could meet RUPO at the Fairgrounds siding, where they would run around the train, and would then head back to Danville Jct. to tie down. This meant there was no way to get RUPO with light, so I called it a day but not before getting a quick shot of DJ-1 with the 3402 at International Paper.
