I went to visit my friend Ana at here houseboat and brought a bag of dry dog food to feed the birds with. Ana has been feeding the waterfowl and songbirds all winter and I try to bring feed with me when I visit her. It gets quite expensive for Ana who survives on disability assistance and it is not uncommon for her to deprive herself of proper nourishment in order to purchase feed for the birds and her dog and cats. It is a truly spiritual experience to feed these wonderful creatures and you cannot imagine the thrill I get when the swans actually eat from my hand. The swans and ducks in particular are quite territorial and would not normally associate at close quarters like this, but the lure of much needed food convinces them to overcome their territorialism except for the odd time when one of them feels that its space is being too closely invaded. It is quite humorous to watch their brief moments of aggression when this occurs. Fortunately they don't harm each other, but a few feathers do get dislodged at times. I decided to video the fun and share the experience with you. I hope you enjoy viewing this as much as I enjoyed producing it for you and PLEASE FEED THE BIRDS.
