It's Academic: Jefferson, Einstein and Alexandria City | February 14, 2026

Students from Thomas Jefferson High School of Science & Technology in Alexandria, VA; Einstein High School in Silver Spring, MD; and Alexandria City High School in Alexandria, VA square off on IT'S ACADEMIC! The Guinness Book of World Records has recognized IT'S ACADEMIC as the world's longest-running TV quiz show. Started back in 1961, the weekly program features teams from Washington DC metropolitan area schools -- public, private, parochial, charter, urban, suburban and rural. Host Hillary Howard leads the teams through a fast paced academic competition, testing their knowledge in a wide range of subjects including math, literature, science, history and more. The high school quiz show is filmed before a live studio audience and broadcast on WETA PBS and WETA Metro. IT'S ACADEMIC is produced by Altman Productions in association with David M.
