Storyline: Bella puts Alexander to bed, checks on Cassandra, and heads to her room, where Mortimer is busy working. She suggests going out to dinner, but he dismisses her, absorbed in his work. Upset that they no longer spend time together, Bella decides to go out alone and visits Don Lothario, a recent acquaintance. They share drinks and flirt, and Bella mentions her fight with Mortimer. When Don tries to make a move, Bella rejects him, focusing instead on the stars through his telescope. Suddenly, she sees a flash of light and an alien spaceship appears. Bella is abducted, leaving Don bewildered by her sudden disappearance. Bella awakens briefly to see strange creatures erasing her memory, and then she loses consciousness. One of the aliens apologises to Bella, for their mistake. She’s later dropped in a desert with no recollection of who she is, where a scientist finds her and offers shelter. Bella begins a new life in Strangetown, attracting attention from the locals. In Pleasantview, Mortimer is devastated and tirelessly searches for Bella. Years pass without success, and Mortimer is eventually visited by the Caliente sisters. Dina Caliente, motivated by his wealth, makes a move on him.
