Anyone Can Play This Easy Doc Watson Tune! “Way Downtown” | Beginner to Advanced

A lesson on the classic old-time tune "Way Downtown" in the style of Doc and Merle Watson! This tune has a rich history dating back to the turn of the century, originally recorded by the​ original purveyor of traditional Americana music, The Dixie Dewdrop​: Uncle Dave Macon. This classic was later performed by many of the greats of bluegrass guitar, gaining popularity through Doc and Merle's rendition, and more recently by Billy Strings. This tune is very accessible to beginners and advanced guitarists alike and in this lesson, we'll take a look at three arrangements of the melodic guitar break for "Way Downtown": Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. The beginner arrangement covers the basic components of the melody. Then, in the intermediate arrangement we'll expand on the basic melody and add some hammer-ons and pull-offs.
