In the 1990s, Brüel & Kjær introduced a new generation of all-in-one digital instruments. Among them, the B&K 2238 Mediator became one of the most widely used meters of the decade. The highlight of this episode, however, is the B&K 2260 Investigator – the first fully digital and modular successor to the 2231. It combined the functions of multiple instruments, became a learning platform for many acousticians, and is still appreciated by professionals today.
