On the last day of the school year, the 1st of July 2022, the whole ISM community came together to celebrate our annual Speech Day event. This year’s Speech Day was hotly anticipated, as it was the first such event since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Teachers, students and parents excitedly entered the famous House of Music building, showing their tickets and picking up their programmes, and took their seats in the beautiful Svetlanov Hall. ISM’s own Ju Yeon played a piano prelude on the grand piano as the guests arrived and found their places. The event began promptly at 9:30, opened spectacularly with two pieces performed by the Krylatskoe Upper Campus Orchestra and Choir. Over the course of the next 90 minutes, the audience was treated to a series of wonderful performances by the Rosinka and Krylatskoe Lower Campus choirs, as well as some memorable speeches and student reflections by our Masters of Ceremony and various student representatives. Each Head of Campus proudly awarded their campus’s academic and pastoral awards to the deserving students, resulting in some spectacular photographs. The event culminated with Mr Keach awarding the most prestigious awards of the event: The COBIS Awards, the Ivan Gromov Award and the Victoria Reznik Award. With the Whole School House Point winners announced and the school song sung, the only thing left to do was for Mr Keach to close Speech Day with those famous 6 words: “School is out for the summer.” Thank you very much everyone for making Speech Day 2022 so special.
