We toured up Mt. Tallac in South Lake Tahoe—3,500 feet of climbing to reach nearly 9,700 ft. Some seriously spicy ridge skinning almost shut us down, and there were more people than expected out there… but no one wanted to drop from the summit. Somehow, despite starting late, we scored first tracks off the top. Perfect backcountry powder and a brand new ski setup: Salomon skis, Moment bindings, and Tecnica boots. Safe to say the gear passed the test.
