Delta WASP 2040 Clay Review: 3D Printing with Clay and Ceramics

Delta WASP 2040 Clay Review: 3D Printing with Clay and Ceramics https://top3dshop.com/product/delta-w... Hey everyone! This is Top 3D Shop, and in this video, we will tell you about the WASP 2040 Clay 3D printer. 2040 Сlay is a delta 3D Printer produced by an Italian company Wasp. The machine is designed for printing with dense fluid materials based on clay. This device is a modification of the popular model 2040. A regular FDM extruder was replaced with a special print head of the proprietary design. The printer comes fully assembled. Before the first print, it is required to mount the pressure control, and fill the cylindrical container with material premixed with water or alcohol. The container itself is mounted to the back of the printer. The extruder mechanism, the pressure control, and the container are connected via teflon tubes. The mixture is fed under pressure. The compressor of the required capacity should be acquired separately. You are not limited in choosing software for preparing models for printing - such software as Cura, Slic3r or Simplify3D will work great! The g-code can be transferred into the printer’s memory via the USB-connection or an SD-card. The control unit has a monochrome LCD display and a universal button knob The 3D printer has a rigid steel frame. Such a traditional solution reduces vibration during printing and thereby guarantees a stable, high print quality. The prepared mixture is pushed from the pressurized container through the tube and into the extruder mechanism, where a screw then drives it into the nozzle. The print head is a proprietary product of the company and is a hybrid of two material feeding technologies - it relies on both air pressure and a mechanical screw. According to the manufacturer, the design of the extruder will allow you to completely get rid of the smallest air bubbles in the mixture, which reduces the number of printing defects. Depending on the task, you can install one of the pre-packed nozzles with a diameter of 1.2 and 2 mm. The printer can run at 150mm/s, with a standard layer thickness of 0.5 mm. The build area of the device is a cylinder with a diameter of 20cm and a height of 40cm. The WASP 2040 Clay features a system that will save your print job and resume it in case of a blackout. The finished prints must be placed into a kiln for subsequent bisque firing under a temperature of 1000-1200°C. The range of available materials for the WASP 2040 Clay includes 3 types of clay-based mixtures - white, red, and “Limoges Porcelain.” Besides the printer, the package contains a 3-liter container, a set of teflon tubes and mounts, a pressure control, and 10 kg of the “Limoges Porcelain” mixture. The WASP 2040 Clay 3D printer will prove to be a wonderful tool for sculptors, ceramics manufacturers, and modern artists. Want to find out more about 3D printers or even buy one right now?
