Legal Education Bill Sparks Debate: Govt Moves to End Ghana School of Law Monopoly

Speaking in Parliament during debates on the Legal Education Bill, 2025, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga said that with several accredited public and private universities offering law degrees, qualified institutions should be allowed to run programmes that enable their graduates to sit the Bar examinations. He stressed that strict standards will be enforced, insisting that only universities that meet the required accreditation benchmarks will be allowed to participate.
