Mozart lebt - unter diesem Motto hat Rolando Villazón, der Intendant der Mozartwoche 2019 sein Programm vorgestellt. Seine fünf Mozartwochen (2019-2023) sind eine Reise durch den Kosmos des Genius Loci, die sich ausschließlich seinen Werken widmen wird. 2019 stehen Mozarts Chorwerke im Mittelpunkt. Mehr als 60 Veranstaltungen, darunter drei opulente szenische Produktionen, u.a. mit "Thamos, König in Ägypten" in einer Inszenierung der katalanischen Theatergruppe La Fura dels Baus, Orchesterkonzerte, Kammermusik, Tanz, Pantomime, Kabarett und vieles mehr, werden bei Rolando Villazóns erster Mozartwoche verdeutlichen, wie aktuell und lebendig Mozart heute immer noch ist. His five festivals from 2019 to 2023 constitute a journey through the world of the genius loci and will be devoted exclusively to Mozart. In 2019 it is choral works that will be at the heart of the Festival’s programme. At Rolando Villazón’s first Mozart Week Festival, more than sixty events, including three lavish stage productions, among which the principal draw is Thamos, König in Ägypten in a production by the Catalan theatre collective La Fura dels Baus, orchestral concerts, chamber music, dance, mime, cabaret and much more besides, will illustrate the extent to which Mozart remains relevant and vital today.
