We'll see the shops, restaurants, bars, pubs and more. Let's explore Sheffield Sheffield's city centre is a fascinating mix of old and new, a testament to its industrial heritage and its modern, creative identity. At its very heart is the Peace Gardens, a beautifully landscaped public space that provides a tranquil oasis amidst the urban bustle. With its impressive fountains and cascades, and the grand, Grade I listed Town Hall overlooking the square, it's a popular meeting point and a perfect place to sit and relax. Adjacent to this is the award-winning Winter Garden, one of the largest temperate glasshouses in the UK. This magnificent structure, filled with over 2,500 plants from around the world, offers a stunning and serene environment, seamlessly connecting the Peace Gardens to the Millennium Gallery, a free-to-enter art and design museum that showcases both local metalwork heritage and contemporary exhibitions. A short walk from the Peace Gardens leads to the city's celebrated theatre district centered around Tudor Square. This area is home to the world-famous Crucible Theatre, a modernist landmark that has been the home of the World Snooker Championship since 1977.
