Hello everyone ! 👋🏻 Here’s Fattoe channel 🦶🏻This time we are taking you for a walk towards the industrial part of the city 🏭 We will start our walk from the gate called "Grohmann's Barrels". It is built of unplastered red 🧱 Its appearance is reminiscent of the Gothic Revival architecture. The neo-Gothic arch is based on two spool-shaped columns and that is why they were called “barrels” 🛢️ Next we will go to Ludwik Grohmann's villa 🏰The villa in the style of the Italian Renaissance was built according to the design of Hilary Majewski. Then our steps will be directed to the Herbst Palace Museum. It was a villa erected for the eldest daughter of Karol Scheibler, named after her husband Edward Herbst. And here we come to the last place of our journey, which is Ksiezy Mlyn. This building, together with the adjacent workers' housing estate, was a real self-town in the city. The whole complex is one of the most interesting monuments in the world. The factory complex in Księży Młyn - also known as Pffafendorf in German - is the first in this scale, and later unsurpassed, assumption presenting the layout characteristic for Łódź: factory - residence - housing estate. It is one of the best projects of this kind, not only in Poland, but also in Europe. As a complex, it has been entered in the register of monuments, and for several years efforts have been made to enter the UNESCO World Heritage List.
