Early morning in the Missenden Valley. Trains exiting the chiltern tunnel north portal soon reach the summit around Leather Lane before descending gently into the Aylesbury plain. The viaduct sits low and nicely in the landscape. Work continues on the piers(9 no.) of the 450m viaduct... perhaps for access to the area between pier and deck.. though I don't know! Deck surface preparation/parapet installation to follow later this year. The viaduct is situated in the Chilterns, south of Wendover in Buckinghamshire. High speed trains are due to traverse this area in the early 2030's on UK's new high speed line, between London, Birmingham and the north.
