For today’s case, Dr. Emer is going to be performing male facial sculpting during filler night to give this male patient a more masculine look. We injected different areas of his face with different Galderma Restylane fillers to give him more of a 90-degree angle to his jawline, bring the chin forward and widen it slightly to be more in proportion with the width of his cheek, contour the cheek, soften the nasolabial folds, and plump the lips for a more signature feature enhancement. Many of my younger clients, who are athletic, tend to lose volume in their mid-20s and come in asking to improve dark circles and folds around the mouth. This client had those concerns in addition to feeling like he noticed less lip definition so we expressed that fillers could be used to shape and contour his face by strategically placing them to give his face a "sculpted" and more "chiseled" appearance. ⁣ ⁣ Restylane Defyne filler is injected into the apple of his cheek to keep it elevated. The jawline is injected using a depot injection technique to make the bone structure “pop” for a modelesque look. When injecting the nasolabial folds, we also go down to the lower cutaneous lip with a superficial technique using Restylane Refyne to be able to build structure below to get a widening effect that will make the chin look more masculine. The combination of thinner fillers and thicker fillers give his chin a nicer structure. A small amount throughout the temples will give the brow a little lift since it tends to drop with age. For the lips, we inject Restylane KYSSE into the edge of the cupid’s bow to give him lift, give the appearance of an upturned lip with more shaping and volume, and make the bottom lip larger than the top for balancing. While immediate results are apparent, the best results can be seen after the fillers fully settle in after approximately a week or two. These hyaluronic-acid based fillers lasts up to approximately 12 months. Many patients are highly recommended to return after a month to see how it's settled in to continue building for more chiseled results.
