If you’ve followed my journey over my last few videos you’ll learn that an old office chair I had decided to break on me (not the Secretlab Titan chair seen in this video). Of course, it broke right while I was holding a cup of coffee! A massive spill right on my original Craft keyboard. My original 2018 Logitech Craft keyboard took it like a champ, in fact it acted like a sponge and absorbed almost the entire amount of coffee! There was very little spilled on my desk. The timing of this incident was unfortunate as it was right at the beginning of COVID lockdown and finding a replacement keyboard was hard! In the end I was lucky enough to find another Logitech Craft keyboard for sale, I guess it was one of the last keyboards to sell out due to its premium price point. As a true testament to the build quality of my original Logitech keyboard, after weeks and weeks of cleaning and drying on repeat I am happy to report its made a near full recovery. Unexpected! The only problem? Some of the illuminated keys no longer work. So I went into the 2020 Logitech Craft feeling satisfied that I mostly enjoy this keyboard. But, I did have some hopes that it might improve some of the issues I have mostly with its Bluetooth connection and its occasional, but frequent enough to annoy you drop outs. Without a doubt it affects Mac computers more than PC, but when a disconnection randomly happens most of the time you will need to remove it as a Bluetooth device from your computer and re-add it like you were doing so for the first time. When this happens during a session of productive work, or just before a Zoom meeting it can really throw you off your game. Sadly, like with most Bluetooth devices those connections are not perfect either version of this keyboard I have. With that exception, this is a well built keyboard with a few fancy features like the crown dial which have so cool functions out of the box with Adobe Creative Suite, or you can program your own for other applications if you put in the time to do so. For me, my favourite feature though is the fact the keyboard can connect to 3 devices and can be switched over at the press of a button, and bonus points is that it has both apple and PC labels on the keys! Overall this is a great keyboard for creatives or those that aren’t wanting the ‘gaming-look’ keyboards. If you're watching this I assume you're also looking at the Logitech MX Keys keyboard and I feel either option will do you well. My only advice is if you do suffer from a Bluetooth connection issue, you may need an old wired-usb mouse and keyboard to help get you back on track. Cheers!
