Grady Nichols and Bill Champlin (of Sons of Champlin and Chicago) perform a Grady Nichols original, “You Know Me,” for the LEGACY Concert Series at the historic The Church Studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born and raised in Arkansas, Grady Nichols is a saxophone player and entrepreneur who is in high demand in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has performed locally for over two decades, and has seen the national spotlight opening for the likes of Luciano Pavarotti, Ray Charles, Al Green, Wayman Tisdale and The Beach Boys. Of course, he has also performed with Bill Champlin numerous times; the latter has been quoted saying, “[Grady Nichols] is one of the best sax tones on the planet.” Bill Champlin, the legendary vocalist and songwriter, was a staple of Chicago for 28 years. His music career began in 1961, spanning a whopping 61 years to date. He began his solo career, with the alias “Sons of Champlin,” in 1967. He is a two-time Grammy Award winner, and one of the countless musicians who performed alongside the legendary Leon Russell and has fond memories of working with him. The Church Studio is redefining live music events – bringing a musical revival to a very finite group of 100 guests in the transcendent sanctuary of The Church Studio.
