I've acquired a trailer! Time to add a winch. The trailer needs a lot of work to turn it into the car transporter of my dreams: new light bar, jockey wheel, brakes, a damned good clean and paint, and a new bed. But it should still turn out to be a bargain, even with all that. First step is adding a winch, so that I can get one of my cars up on top of it. At the moment I'm taking up too much space in my shared garage, so I need to temporarily stick one of my project cars up on top of the trailer. All the other jobs can wait but I'll need a winch to get it on board. In this episode I fit a Rhino 4500lb rated 12V winch. Next step will be working out a temporary ramp arrangement. FYI: The weight limit of this trailer is 750kg without brakes in the UK, which will be plenty for taking stuff to the scrap yard. It's only when I want to move whole cars that I will need to ensure it has brakes. This will take the limit up to 1300KG with our current tow vehicle and potentially a lot more with something with more weight and grunt up front. Big thanks to @bootsowen for finding the trailer. Go check out his (much bigger) channel where you will see his incredible ability to spot a bargain in a skip or just on the street.
