Auschwitz. What does Auschwitz look like in 2022? Contrary to popular opinion, Oświęcim is not only the former German concentration camp Auschwitz. The city has a very rich history and thus very diverse buildings, which makes a walk around Oświęcim very pleasant and sometimes you can feel the interesting history of this city. Oświęcim is friendly to tourists due to the fact that there are a lot of them here all year round. In most restaurants, bars and pastry shops we can talk freely in English. I personally like walking along the Soła Boulevards and the streets around the market square. Are Auschwitz and Oświęcim the same? This question is often asked, so I'll explain briefly. In 1940, a Nazi concentration camp was established - "Konzentrationslager" and the German name of Oświęcim is Auschwitz. Immediately after liberation from German occupation, the city returned to its Polish name OŚWIĘCIM. What is worth seeing in Oświęcim: The history of the city is so long and rich that I will mention only a few of the most interesting places: Auschwitz-Bierkenau Memorial Site, a former German concentration camp Castle in Oświęcim with a tower Austrian Tunnel Chapel of St. Jack Market Square in Oświęcim City Hall Haller Kapica Chevra Lomdei Mishnayot Synagogue Church of Our Lady Help of Christians Boulevards Historic tenement houses Kruki Lake and many others. Other names of Oświęcim: German Auschwitz, Yiddish. אָשפּיצין Oshpicin, Roma (vlax) Auszwica Music: Azoora - sleep on the way and life of fantastic #Oświęcim #Oswiecim #Auschwitz #rokym Please visit my website: www.kreatorpodrozy.pl
