This 1972 Mercedes-Benz 250C is a well-kept example presented in Moss Green metallic over a “money green” interior. A longtime California car, it has resided in the San Francisco Bay Area with a series of long-term owners since the 1970s. It is not documented where it was first sold, but an original sticker in one of the side windows describes it as a “California emissions” car, likely meaning it was delivered new in the state. US-market 250Cs came with a 2.8L M130 inline-six, paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The car was repainted in 1978 and the paintwork is still holding up well today, despite minor scratches and imperfections. Brightwork is in good condition throughout, and the original data trim tag is present under the hood. This early 250C features the more desirable small bumpers and early front end treatment that help to accentuate the pleasing lines of Paul Bracq’s pillarless coupe design.
