The Khlong Toei Slum...Nine hundred square meters of narrow alleys and ramshackle buildings, a tiny plot of land with an outsized reputation in Thailand as the most notorious address in the country. Now hidden behind high concrete walls and slated for demolition, Khlong Toei is almost forgotten in a country fast developing. But Khlong Toei deserves better. It's a place where a unique blend of people came together almost seven decades ago and a one-of-a-kind culture emerged through shared hardship and struggle. And it's a place that's still standing because it has one of the most fascinating food scenes anywhere on Earth.
