For our way out of Turkey, we had a few options but there was only ever one choice. The D915 is Turkey's most dangerous road. Nicknamed the Highway to Hell. Built by the Soviets, driven by those who enjoy looking death in the face. Ride it we were told, it's a once in a lifetime experience but wait for good weather. We couldn't wait though, as a storm rolled in from the Black Sea, bringing with it galeforce winds, rain, hail and mist so thick that visibility was no longer an option, we carried on. The unsurfaced road turned slick with mud, rivers formed across it from waterfalls created by the downpour, and we grew so cold we feared hypothermia.
