He founded Alan in 2016, a digital health insurance provider with its sights set on disrupting the healthcare industry. Having raised over $300M the company quickly rose to prominence as a French tech darling and is recognized as the 13th unicorn ($1B+ valuation) in France. Alan was a quick disruptor, becoming the first company in France since 1986 to receive a health insurance license, threatening incumbents with a digital first platform popular among startups offering employee benefits. Their playful brand and radically transparent culture have taken the French market by storm, leading them to expand into Belgium and Spain with the goal of becoming the healthcare super app of Europe. Jean-Charles is a student of Silicon Valley culture and has done a remarkable job sharing lessons, frameworks and entrepreneurial strategies from his perch in Paris, France.
