Boondocking In Arkansas - Off-Grid Camping In The Mountains

Sometimes the best trips aren’t about how far you travel… they’re about how much you slow down. We needed this! In this video, we spent three quiet winter days boondocking in the mountains of Arkansas, unplugging from busy schedules and reconnecting with the peace that comes from slowing life down. No hookups, no crowds, and no agenda — just quiet woods, campfires, great camp meals, coffee in the cold morning air, and time together. During the trip we also took time to hike the beautiful Little Missouri Winding Stairs Trail, crossing creeks, Little Missouri river crossing and walking through the peaceful Arkansas forest. It reminded us how much beauty you can miss when life moves too fast. A little about us — we’re Larry 62 and Donna 60, still working full time running a Rescue Mission in Shreveport, La. while raising three amazing granddaughters, and preparing for the next chapter of life. When we reach 70, we plan to step into full-time RV living and continue exploring God’s creation together. Until then, we take every chance we can to get away, unplug, and enjoy the simple moments on the road in our travel trailer Journey. This trip reminded us that sometimes you don’t need a big adventure… sometimes you just need a little peace. If life has been feeling busy or overwhelming, we hope these three quiet days in the Arkansas wilderness encourage you to slow down, breathe deeper, and maybe even plan your own escape into nature.
