撒癔症四 北京妇产医院 2019.1.11 Sayizheng is a series of art events occurring in Beijing's public space. Sa·yi·zheng (撒癔症), derived from a disorder similar to sleepwalking, is a local slang to mock the restless who wander the streets aimlessly in the night. Sayizheng IV took place in the beginning of year 2019 at the renowned reproduction base in the country – Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. From family planning to two-child advocacy, for Chinese people the notion of childbearing changes in accordance with the policy. The CPC’s official newspaper People’s Daily announced, “Having children is a family matter as much as a country's matter.” Under strict surveillance, 11 artists mixed into the crowd of patients and family members to carry out their projects during the hospital’s working hours.
