The Honourable Rechie Valdez, Minister of Small Business, joined the Diversity Institute and Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub in celebration of International Women’s Day (recognized globally on March 8). The Diversity Institute and Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH) hosted an in-person event in Toronto on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Minister Valdez discussed the advancement of women entrepreneurs across the country and the steps our government is taking to support women-led businesses. The event included an exciting morning of networking and learning to celebrate the contributions of Canadian women entrepreneurs and the organizations that support them. The event was a forum to get together and listen to women’s voices, marking an important day for the ecosystem. Wendy Cukier, presented the key findings from WEKH’s 2025 edition of the State of Women’s Entrepreneurship in Canada (SOWE) report.
