A deep dive into Madden 96 on Super Nintendo that functions as a quasi-review but mostly love letter into one of the definitive games of my childhood. While Tecmo Super Bowl III has certainly aged better, Madden '96 was a great choice for the 1995 NFL Season which, for my money, is the best represented video game NFL season ever with 4 good choices on Super Nintendo alone. This video gives looks at gameplay in Madden 96, formations, best cheese plays, 3 All-Time team codes, how to play as the team you want to play as in Playoffs mode, Create-A-Player, Trading Players, creating a superstar team, winning the Super Bowl, features found in the first time in Madden 96, one stadium found only in Madden '96 (Death Valley in Clemson, SC) and some comparisons between Madden '96, NFL Quarterback Club '96, and Tecmo Super Bowl III... sorry to fans of Sterling Sharpe End 2 End Football. This is meant to be great background noise or an overly long nostalgia trip. I had a lot of fun deep diving this game because it's not a game that has gotten this kind of treatment anywhere else, and it's one I'm very familiar with. Football was an entirely different sport in 1995, but that season is probably my favorite NFL season ever and it's very lucky we had so many great video game choices for it. I'd like to do another one like this for Tecmo Super Bowl III some time.
