Swelling abdomen 2.Generalised weakness 3. H/O diarrhoea 2 months back Medication: Under sedation FINDINGS: FOL: Epiglottis, aryepiglotic folds, piriform fossas and vocal cords appear normal. OESOPHAGUS: Multiple columns of grade II to III oesophageal varices are seen at the lower half. First session of band ligation done by 6 applications Boston Scientific band ligator STOMACH: Rugal mucosal folds are normal in size, shape and color. Mucosal edema and erythemas are seen at the body and fundus of the stomach. Small fundal varix is noted. An ulcerated polyp is seen at the lower part of body. The polyp is removed by diathermy snare. DUODENUM: D1 and D2 along with papilla appear normal. BIOPSY: Resected polyp is sent for histopathology. COMMENTS: 1. Grade IV oesophageal varices 2. Fundal varix 3. Congestive gastropathy 4. Gastric polyp THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION: First session of Endoscopic Variceal Ligation (EVL) and Endoscopic polypectomy done. ADVICE: Review Endoscopy and possible EVL/ Sclerotherapy after 6 weeks.
