WHEN WILL Narrowboat Gladys be on a canal? My 6th visit to Aintree Boats

Monday 19th August 2024: My 6th visit to Liverpool today, to catch up with Gladys the Narrowboat. Until a few days ago, I believed she would be completed and delivered to a marina for launching this Friday, the 23rd. But sadly, Aintree Boats has had difficulty with obtaining an engine, so the timetable has now slipped. At the time of publication, I still don't have a revised date - and this is obviously very disappointing. On the positive side, much of the internal fit-out has been completed and I was impressed, and very happy, with the quality of the work, which is being done by Mattie, who I talked with while looking inside the boat. I remain hopeful that she will be completed in the near future and will update any progress on my 'Community' page here on the channel. Despite witnessing my obvious disappointment, I hope you will enjoy seeing Gladys and will appreciate the great work that Mattie has done - as well as the excellent paint finish / signwriting.
