Chemical peel aftercare instructions: 1. Please follow the instructions of your chemical peel provider. There are many types of chemical peels, and your provider should have given you detailed instructions on how to best treat and protect your skin after your chemical peel. 2. Gently cleanse your face twice a day with jojoba oil, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil or a gentle cleanser. Using oil twice a day will: create a barrier, allow skin to be flexible while your skin heals, control dead skin from hanging off your face, and it makes the chemical peel more evenly and quicker. 3. Please do not pick or pull your skin at any time after your peel. It can cause scarring and trauma to your skin. 4. Your skin will take about 4 to 7 days( or longer) to completely peel depending on the strength of the chemical peel or treatment you received. Receiving a body, chest or arm peel often takes longer (up to 3 weeks). 5. Please do not exfoliate using a cleansing brush or any facial scrub or acid based products for two weeks. 6. Please do not use any products that contain AHA, Glycolic, Retin-A or any acne medication until your skin is finished peeling (usually 7 days and possibly longer). Reapply moisturizer throughout the day as often as needed. Your skin should never be so dry that it is cracking, or sore. 8. Finally, use SPF 30 or higher consistently throughout the day. Reapply, reapply, reapply for this will limit your skin from burning in the sun (even when it's cloudy out or when sitting by a window) and will minimize the chances of more sun damage and discoloration. Do not leave the house without sunscreen on. Put a bottle of sunscreen by your front door to remind yourself. 9. Please refrain from waxing, tanning, or using sunbeds for three weeks or longer. Always use sound judgment after your chemical peel and be sure to tell your Aesthetician that you had a chemical peel. 10. Avoid working out and sweating for at least 24 hours and up to 48 hours. 11.
