This episode saw us in Charleville. All I knew about this town was that it had Bilby’s. So in Stevie’s 3 month birthday. The day we arrived. We headed to the Bilby show and Stevie got to see her first Bilby, just like her mum. They were very cute and are an endangered species so we encourage everyone to get out to Charleville and see the Bilby’s. This smaller than anticipated town also had an awesome WWII Tour. The USA housed the Norden Bomb Sight here under heavy 24/7 guard, lock and key. When the sight was to be used in bomber aircraft it would be handcuffed to the transporter and could not be uncovered until the plane was in the air. Some bloke found it at a garage sale in Ipswich. What a find and what a good bloke for donating it to the township of Charleville. We were booked in to view the galaxy through the telescope. However they changed the tour and we would be looking at photos in a cinema. As this is not what I was chasing I cancelled my ticket. Rock Pools is the free camp we stayed at and was awesome. I loved it here. There were a few billion meat ants so if you stay don’t drop ANYTHING on the ground or they will come in their trillions and eat you as well. I picked up my Akubra here from Golds and I absolutely love it! Being a ginge it is the best hat for keeping me pasty white. Charleville was bloody hot when we rolled in (November) I highly recommend visiting in winter! Until next time, Get out and live the Adventure Life Oz 🤙
