From glitchy madness to ambient soundscapes ‪@TastyChips‬ GR-Mega is a truly fascinating instrument that feels 'endless'! Massive modulation capabilities, amazing sound quality (32-bit floating point audio processing), large screen with cool visuals, plenty of knobs and buttons, built-in sequencer make it the best granular workstation out there! (IMO and yes - I have / had most of the others in hardware and software). Drop some random recordings and you can quickly build complex ever-changing soundscapes, sequenced patterns or insanely detailed textures and drones from pretty much anything. I can highly recommend it to anyone interested in granular synthesis and mangling samples, it is also a great live audio processing device (some experiments in other videos). Here's few fragments of many hours that I have spent with GR-Mega just getting lost in it. I use Novation's Launch Control XL MK3 to control various parameters like grain size, grain ratio, pitch, spray, high pass filter, low pass filter and use sliders to move position of play heads and control amount of effects.
