Ramadan is called the month of the Qur’an for a reason. But many of us have a respectful relationship with the Qur’an that still feels distant. We recite it, we listen to it, we honor it — yet sometimes it doesn’t feel like it is speaking directly to us. In Episode 18 of Journey Into the Heart, Mufti Azeemuddin explores how to reconnect with the Qur’an so it reaches the heart again. Allah describes the Qur’an as healing: وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ “We send down of the Qur’an that which is healing and mercy for the believers.” — Qur’an 17:82 That healing is not only for major crises. It addresses the daily illnesses of the heart: anxiety, envy, pride, anger, distraction, and restlessness. Allah also reminds us that the Qur’an was revealed for reflection: كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ “A blessed Book We have revealed to you so that they may reflect upon its verses.” — Qur’an 38:29 So the goal is not simply to finish pages — it is to let the Qur’an shape you. One powerful duʿā the Prophet ﷺ taught for anxiety and sadness includes this request: “O Allah, make the Qur’an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my sadness and the reliever of my distress.” The goal this Ramadan is not just to get through the Qur’an. The goal is to let the Qur’an get through to you. Jazakullahu Khairan for watching this video.
