We Abandoned the Campervan for Southport!

Was leaving the campervan behind the right idea? In this episode of The Campervan Codgers, we park Syna on a campsite on the outskirts of Southport and try something completely different — ditching the campervan for the day and travelling by bus and train instead. Choosing public transport over van life wasn’t part of the original plan, but we wanted to see if you can still enjoy a great UK day out without using the campervan at all. Our mission takes us into Southport to visit another Wetherspoons for the book and explore the fantastic Atkinson Centre, one of the town’s best FREE attractions — proving a day out doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Along the way we revisit memories from our Trans Pennine bike challenge back in 2011, attempting to find the hotel we stayed in at the finish line — only to discover things have changed more than we expected! We finish the adventure with a train trip to Formby for another Wetherspoons stop before heading back to Syna to reflect on whether leaving the campervan behind actually made travelling easier.
