It is winter in Bergen, Norway, and we take a tranquil and atmospheric walk through historic Nygårdsparken park. Strong, freezing winds move through the century-old trees as I walk along frozen paths and lakes, with crunching snow underfoot and the sound of wind shaping the rhythm of the walk. The park is surrounded by historic buildings, and along the way we get wide views of the cityscape and the majestic Ulriken mountain with the spectacular TV tower at its summit. Warm light from old lampposts contrasts with the icy ground, while people glide past on toboggans, playing on the frozen slopes despite the biting wind. The howling wind in the trees creates a slightly dark, immersive atmosphere — raw and cold, yet deeply calming. Combined with the sound of snow, distant city life, and subtle human presence, this walk captures a winterstorm as it’s truly felt: physical, alive, and quietly beautiful. No music. No talking.
