What Could Possibly Go Wrong!? - AK-X Update At Volocopter Factory

🇬🇧 The past few weeks and months we have been working tirelessly and are finally able show you the progress we made. We were able to complete a major milestone at the DG Aviation and Volocopter factory where we drilled the holes into the wings to fit the main bolts and bushings. Additionally we made some progress regarding the elevator trim as well as the canopy mold positive and the controls in the winglets. If you want to see the AK-X for yourself and meet us we are displaying our current work at the AERO Friedrichshafen from the 19th until 22nd April. Akaflieg Karlsruhe is a German student club, that designs and builds sailplanes. With our newest project, the AK-X, we aim to rejuvenate the flying wing concept. It promises to be much more efficient than comparable gliders. Wir konnten endlich einen großen Meilenstein im Werk von Volocopter Production erreichen, wo wir Löcher in die Flügel gebohrt haben für die Hauptbuchsen. Außerdem hatten wir noch Fortschritt an der Höhenrudertrimmung, sowie der Haubenform und Wingletsteuerung. Wenn ihr die AK-X mit eigenen Augen sehen wollt, kommt uns doch auf der Aero Friedrichshafen besuchen in Halle B4. Die Akaflieg Karlsruhe ist eine Hochschulgruppe am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie. Mit unserem neuesten Projekt, der AK-X, wollen wir die Idee des Nurfüglers wieder aufleben lassen. Wir erhoffen uns eine deutlich gesteigerte Effizienz durch dieses Design.
