A while back when I was getting the travel points to most of the herbalists I witnessed an incident in Markarth. Somebody was assassinated and somebody yelled something about the Forsworn. This is where a guy named Eltrys slipped me a note, claiming it was mine and that I dropped it. So I finally meet up with him at the shrine and he gives me a few leads to see what's going on. After I leave the shrine I decide to have a little look around town before hitting the first place, kind of ironic to be asked if I'm lost when I finally reach my destination. The door to Weylin's room... to me, was unlocked so I had a quick look around. When I found some kind of evidence I left. I met this punching bag named Dryston outside who needed a little persuading to be a little more cooperartive. So his lead sends me to the next group of people who don't have enough sense not to attack me, Nepos the Nose and friends. After that I pop down to the inn to steal Margret's journal from their room, making sure I'm seen leaving looking nervously about and then stand there in front of everybody reading it. Outside a guard thinks I can be intimidated, he may have heard of me so he doesn't get too pushy. He's probably the guard who walked by while I was persuading Dryston. I finally meet up with the one pulling the strings, Thonar Silver-Blood. But it seems a couple of the puppets had tangled their strings and things got complicated. From my answer he thought I was an imperial, When I go to report all this to Eltrys, I'm greeted instead by the prison welcoming comittee. Now its possible to challenge them and then bribe your way out of it, but I decided to do the next part. I'm just going to keep a low profile going in so I don't attact any attention. I talk to the first guy I see and learn all I need to know. I talk to Borkal the Beast who is guarding the door, for some reason he needs a shiv to let me in. This must be to prove something because somebody like him doesn't need a shiv, just a dirty look from this guy could cause exit wounds. So I need to talk to Grisvar the Unlucky to get a shiv, but they need some skooma that can be lifted off of Braig. I then demonstrate the importnace of quicksaving. I return with the fix, he gives me the shiv and before you know it I'm talking to Madanach. You can always tell how important an npc is by how long the initial lecture is. He tells you to go listen to Braig. Turns out this guy has had it worse than anyone could imagine. So they're going to break out but they need you to deal with Grisvar the Unlucky. This was all it took to motivate them into escaping the prison. After a bit of handiwork along the way I finally get all my stuff back along with my very own Forsworn armor. It'll look great on one of the mannequins. After getting out I watch everything go down, I have more things to do in this place so I can't really take sides in this ongoing argument. I'm putting off the main story for the time being, so I'm mostly covering side quests at this point.
