I acquired this fan from fellow local collector Martin, who found it in the trash this past Cleanup Week. I swapped out for the floral globe shown myself, I thought it suited the fan well. It cleaned up very nicely, there's really not much wrong with it cosmetically and the plastics have not faded in color much. Overall this is one of the better-running Friction Drives I've seen, there are no rough spots in the drive or the motor, and really no squeak either. I was also able to get a fair range of speeds out of it, you can't run these too slow or they'll stall out, so to get it as slow as I did here was a pretty good accomplishment. It's still a super loud fan under the best circumstances, really these fans are pretty much junk and could be considered Emerson's worst venture in ceiling fans, but they're nonetheless interesting and I'm excited to have one in my collection now.
