After a long, hot climb up Castle Hill and Tewsgill Hill in the Southern Uplands, I put the Vango Hydra 200 to the test in real wild camping conditions. This is Vango’s bargain-priced, four-season tent, and I wanted to see how it holds up against still air, heat, and overnight condensation. Spoiler: it's solid! This wasn’t just about gear. I also open up about some local concerns, including the growing saturation of wind turbines in this region and the proposed Renewco Ravengill wind farm near Leadhills. While I don’t dwell on it, I do share a few honest thoughts.
