Review of the Tampa Bay Tobacco Co. Red The video starts with me in my "cigar hut" If anyone is interested in learning more about the cigar hut, here is a link to it on Amazon. I have the 60 x 60 inch model: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QLVPMK4?... Cigar Review – West Tampa Tobacco Company Red This review was originally recorded in early November 2023, the Cigar Hut introduction was done November 26, 2023 – outdoor temperature about 20F When Smoked: November 2023 Obtained from: purchased 5-pack Size: Toro (6 inches x 52) Approximate cost: US$9.00 See ratings below West Tampa Tobacco Company is a new venture by Rick Rodriguez, who is known for having headed CAO for a number of years. He launched West Tampa Tobacco Co in 2022. The “Red” (the three cigars in the line are differentiated by color of the label, white, black or red) is the full-bodied entry, and from my observation by far the most popular. It has been fairly difficult to get until very recently. Specs on this cigar – a very dark San Andres Maduro wrapper makes things interesting. If you’ve tried the AJ Fernandez-Altadis version of Trinidad (the number 2) the wrapper is similar to that; dark and dry looking, very rustic. I smoked two of these prior to the review – the first one was nothing short of perfect. Construction, burn, draw all very good and taste unusually chocolate in character, more so than any cigar I’ve had. Ah, the second one (the one I smoke in the video) wasn’t quite as good. Burn was okay but leaning toward sub-par. The chocolate flavor from the first stick was largely absent. Flavor on the second was very good, but not memorable as the first was. This is billed as a full body cigar, but the smoothness and balance of the tobacco definitely takes the edge off. I’m going with 8.0/10 for body – this is not overpowering by any means. There is some spice, but it’s mostly woody with an earthiness and the chocolate I mentioned earlier. A good tasting cigar. Overall smoking experience for the West Tampa Red is 8.25/10. This is the result of averaging my first 9.0 experience with a 7.5 for the second stick. That evens out to 8.25, a number that I struggled to come up with in the video. Some cigars don’t make the video cut. I have a growing catalog of written-only reviews that you can find at https://cigarscigarscigars.com Also, I should mention in the Amazon link at the top of this, I am in the Amazon Affiliate program and as such get a small percentage of the sales from that link. Your price remains the same, but if you buy a cigar hut I get enough to go to McDonald’s – by myself.
