Visitors to Kaohsiung can now enjoy an environmentally friendly ferry that connects Warehouse Number Two and Cijin Island. The ferry also makes a stop at Hamasen, effectively tying three tourist destinations together. Transportation Minister Ho-chen Tan was at the southern port city today for the ferry''s inauguration.Asia’s first electric ferry, Qifu Number One, now plies the waters between Kaohsiung’s Pier Two and Cijin Island. Now we’re able to combine the two with the establishment of this new route that connects Warehouse Number Two and Cijin. Not only does the new route connect Pier Two and Cijin Island, it also makes a stop at Hamasen Railway Museum, where visitors can easily hop onto Kaohsiung’s light rail, MRT or a shared bike.Ho-chen TanTransportation MinisterWe now have the perfect integration of public transportation, tourism, and ocean scenery. It is a green mode of transportation and a new starting point for tourism in southern Taiwan.An added incentive for summer visitors is two free ferry tickets if you spend more than NT$1000 at Warehouse Number Two.
