Upper back tightness/knots are caused by modern day living. This 13 minute Yin Inspired Yoga sequence helps to open and strengthen the upper back. When we sit, drive or carry a child all day this can lead to poor posture and as a result stiffness in the upper back. Many people also store stress in their upper back (including myself) which can lead to restricted breathing. Yummy twists and moving in 5 different motions here will greatly help to improve mobility of the upper back and reduce knots. Equipment: Please have a tennis ball or softer ball such as a stress ball for the end to give yourself a knot releasing massage:) Also have some blankets/bolster/block handy if you tend to round out your lower back when you sit to place underneath your hips so that you can sit with a neutral spine.
