A truck driver has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving charges after his B-double slammed into a school bus on the Western Highway in 2022, ejecting children and causing life-altering injuries. The court heard Brett Russell knew his brakes were faulty when he got behind the wheel but continued driving from Nil through Ballarat to Pentland Hills where he lost control.
