Sub-charts in OrgPlus RealTime

The sub-chart feature in OrgPlus RealTime is similar to page breaks in other applications. It’s a convenient way to view large amounts of data by navigating through the hierarchy to view different levels in the organization. You can set your levels for sub-charts by clicking the “Sub-Chart” drop down menu. There are a number of options you can choose from the menu. I’m going to select the “Remove All Sub-Chart” button to demonstrate what this looks like with the sample data. As you can see, this removes all sub charts from the workspace. Let’s go back to the Sub-Chart menu to explore additional options. The “Levels” option is one of the easiest ways to set sub-carts in the workspace. Since I previously removed all sub-charts, I’m going to select three levels so you can see the effect it has on the org chart. There, my org chart is more manageable and I can display fewer employees in my organization. If I want to drill down further into the chart I can click the sub-chart button under the employee’s box to see additional reporting structures.   Sub-Charts by Fields Another option under the sub-chart menu is to sort by field. The sub-chart by fields options are based on the view that’s selected. To begin, I’m going to select a view with a greater number of fields. Now that we’ve selected another view with many more fields let’s see what sub-chart options are available in our menu. To see the fields we can sub-chart by select the “Using Field” dial and then click the drop-down. As you can see, all of the fields that appear in the employee box in the chart for this view will also appear in the drop down menu to sub-chart. Let’s see what sub-charting by department looks like. Now the chart is sub-charted by department. Another good example to look at is to sub-chart by location. If you’re an organization that has multiple departments and locations there are quite a few options to define the look of your org chart.
