Seamus O'Rourke - I'm the Father of the Bride

At approximately 8pm on the 22nd August 1922, Michael Collins was shot dead. Leitrim playwright and actor Seamus O'Rourke created this new work in commemoration of events during the Decade of Centenaries - "I'm the Father of the Bride". Filmed in Charlie Farrelly’s pub - Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim. "As It Happened" is produced and filmed by Edwina Guckian and supported by Leitrim County Council & the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under the Decade of Centenaries 2012-2023 initiative. The commissioned Leitrim artists are: Seamus O' Rourke Vincent Woods Sorcha Nic An TSionnaigh Fionnuala Maxwell Pádraig Mac Samhráin Stephen Murphy Dee Armstrong with Diarmuid & Lughaidh Armstrong Mayock
