In this video, I dive into my personal journey of moving to Finland and how it has transformed me from being anxious, depressed, and jumpy to feeling calm and at peace. As an American expat, I've observed striking differences between life in Finland and the US, especially in how women and children grow up. In Finland, children are encouraged to be independent from an early age, learning accountability and responsibility in ways that are quite different from my experiences in the US. Finnish society places a strong emphasis on self-reliance, and this cultural mindset extends to all aspects of life, from education to daily activities. For women, Finland offers a more balanced and supportive environment, promoting equality and providing numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth. The social safety nets and community support systems in Finland have also contributed significantly to my newfound sense of peace and well-being. Join me as I explore these differences and share my reflections on how the Finnish way of life has profoundly impacted me.
